Behold the call of Antlered Man! Danny Fury [guitar], Damo Ezekiel Holmes [vocals], Sam Ray [bass] and Oliver Parker [drums] are the core members that started the group in early 2009 in Bermondsey, London. The quartet cut their teeth playing in various rock/punk bands before coming together to create what can only be described as something oddly complete.
Ferociously heavy yet wonderfully harmonic, Antlered Man offers a fusion of aggressive riff-driven guitar and delicate orchestral sounds, influenced by the likes of Melvins, Mike Patton, Trail Of Dead, Radiohead and the deadbeat hero Doug Stanhope.
"This is a new kind of beast, Antlered Man has emerged as some unholy hybrid of QOTSA and Akron/Family. Part rock, part folk, part otherworldly. Big riffs combine with whistling, flute, violin and shredded slide guitar. Beware World, a new behemoth strides out across the land" (John Kennedy, XFM).
"An extraordinary band!" (Tom Robinson, BBC RADIO 6)
Antlered Man released their debut LP ‘Giftes 1&2’ at the beginning of 2012 and received high praise across the board, with a rating of 8/10 in Classic Rock and great write ups in Total Guitar, Rock Sound, Terrorizer and more. It’s a truly unique sound with elements of prog, punk, stoner and indie present, heavy riffs are interrupted by twisted dreamlike sequences before blasting you once again.
A busy summer of 15 European festivals, lead to a busier autumn/winter, with the band clocking up over 60 shows throughout the year. Their live show won many plaudits, including John Robb, who touted them as hit ‘new favourite band’, after their performance at The Great Escape Festival. This accumulated in a nomination at the Artrocker Awards 2012 for ‘Best Live Act’ – to be pipped at the post by The Black Keys.
The band have spent the first few months of 2013 recording a brand new album, produced by Rocky O’Reilly (And So I Watch You From Afar). 'This Devil Is Them!' will be released internationally in October 2013 on New Heavy Sounds. It's a darker, weirder beast than their debut, pushing their musical capabilities to the edge of what they felt was possible. They’ll be back on the road touring their trailblazing new album before the year is out.
